Your health insurance starts from the date you nominate.
Your first payment comes out of your account after the nominated date, but you’ll still be covered from this date.
Things to note:
- Waiting periods apply before you can claim, unless you’re switching from another private health insurer and have served waiting periods for comparable benefits.
- You might also have to serve waiting periods if you have switched to a higher level of cover that has additional services or higher limits.
- Benefits are not payable until you’ve paid your first premium.
You can only claim for services received from the date your cover started or the date your waiting period finishes.
