Good news – eligible members have a whole lot of extra time to use their unused routine dental extras annual limits... a whole financial year extra in fact. Yay!
At ahm, extras annual limits normally reset on 1 July and unused limits expire. This year, we’re rolling over any unused routine dental annual limits from the 2025/2026 financial year for members who hold an extras cover with us on 30 June 2026 to use in the next financial year, how good!

To be eligible for the extras annual limit rollover, you need to:
- Hold an ahm extras cover (including extras only, hospital & extras combinations and packages) on 30 June 2026.
- Have unused 2025/2026 financial year routine dental annual limits remaining. Any unused annual limits from the 2024/2025 financial year that were previously rolled over into the 2025/2026 financial year will not be rolled over again.
- Maintain the same extras cover that you held on 30 June 2026. If you change to a different extras cover after 30 June 2026, your routine dental limit rollover will not rollover to your new extras cover.
Please note: If your cover has service limits (e.g. 2 dental check-ups per year), these will continue to apply. If you’ve been an ahm member in the past and are returning, any extras claims made this financial year may be deducted off your limits when re-joining.
Your product guide and your online account outline the usual annual limits available on your extras cover. You can log in to your account at any time to check out your available limits.
How it works:
- Your routine dental limit rollover will be based on your extras cover as at 30 June 2026, and you’ll be able to claim the limit rollover on routine dental services received from 1 July 2026 up until 30 June 2027 once you’ve used up your standard routine dental annual limit on your extras cover in the new financial year.
- Where routine dental is part of a shared limit, all eligible services within that limit will roll over.
- If you haven’t served your applicable waiting periods for routine dental limit, you’ll still need to serve these before you can claim for routine dental services as well as the limit rollover.
- If your cover has service limits (e.g. 2 dental check-ups per year), these will continue to apply. Service limits will not increase next financial year even if you didn't use the services in this financial year.
- Remember, it’s only the eligible unused routine dental annual limits from the 2025/2026 financial year that are rolling over. So any annual limits from the 2024/2025 financial year that were previously rolled over into the 2025/2026 financial year won’t be rolled over again.
