Good news! We’re giving eligible members a whole lot of extra time to use some of their unused extras annual limits... a whole financial year extra in fact. How good!
At ahm, extras annual limits normally reset on 1 July and unused limits expire. This year, we’re rolling over most remaining extras annual limits from the 2025/2026 financial year to use in the next financial year for members who hold ahm super extras cover or an extras cover with a flexi limit^ on 30 June 2026, how good! This excludes optical and orthodontics where they have a separate annual limit and some other limit types (see below*).

To be eligible for the extras annual limit rollover, you need to:
- Hold ahm super extras cover or an extras cover with a flexi limit^ on 30 June 2026.
- Have unused eligible 2025/2026 financial year extras annual limits. Any unused annual limits from the 2024/2025 financial year that were previously rolled over into the 2025/2026 financial year will not be rolled over again.
- Maintain the same extras cover that you held on 30 June 2026. If you change to another extras cover after 30 June 2026, any limit rollover will not rollover to your new extras cover.
Please note: If you’ve been an ahm member in the past and are returning, any extras claims made this financial year may be deducted off your annual limits when re-joining.
Your product guide and your online account outline the usual annual limits available for your extras cover. You can log in to your account at any time to check out your available annual limits.
How it works:
- Your limit rollover for eligible services will be based on your super extras or flexi limit extras cover at 30 June 2026, and you’ll be able to claim the limit rollover for extras services received from 1 July 2026 up until 30 June 2027 once you’ve used up your annual limits on your extras cover for the new financial year.
- If you haven’t served your applicable waiting periods, you’ll still need to serve these before you can claim for those services as well as the limit rollover.
- Remember, it’s only the eligible unused annual limits from the 2025/2026 financial year that are rolling over. So the annual limits from the 2024/2025 financial year that were previously rolled over into the 2025/2026 financial year won’t be rolled over again.
*Limit rollover excludes: optical and orthodontics where they have a separate annual limit; pre and post-natal services and joint fluid replacement injection rolling year limits; orthodontics and laser eye surgery lifetime limits; hearing aid limits that reset every 3 financial years. Service limits continue to apply. Waiting periods apply.
^ Flexi limit covers include access flexi basic, starter flexi/package basic, essentials flexi/package basic plus, lite 50/60 basic plus, lite flexi/package bronze plus, boost flexi/package basic plus, standard cover silver plus, classic flexi/package silver plus, deluxe flexi/package silver plus, flex 50/60.

If you change to another extras cover after 30 June 2026 any limit rollover will not apply to your new extras cover.
Any limit rollover will be based on either your super extras or flexi limit extras cover that you held on 30 June 2026. If you change to another extras cover after this date, any limit rollover will not apply to your new extras cover and you will only have access to the standard annual limits on the new extras cover, as per your product guide – keep in mind any benefits paid within the 2026/2027 financial year will be taken into account on your new extras cover. However, if you only make changes to your hospital cover or move to another state, this will not impact your limit rollover.
It’s important to know that any new members added to your policy after 30 June 2026 are not entitled to any limit rollover. If you remove members from your policy, they may also lose their limit rollover if they choose to take out a different extras cover.
If you, or any member on your membership has unused annual limits from the 2025/2026 financial year, these will roll over into the new financial year. Excludes optical and orthodontics where they have a separate annual limit, pre and post-natal services and joint fluid replacement injections rolling year limits, laser eye surgery and orthodontics lifetime limits and hearing aid limits which reset every 3 financial years.
The same limits on how many services you can use each year will continue to apply. Service limits will not increase next financial year even if you didn't use the services in this financial year.
