Who can I call?
- If you have a non-urgent medical query, you can now speak to a nurse on 1800 532 012
- If you’re having a tough time and need some mental health support, you can speak to a mental health professional on 1800 532 012.
Please note that ahm customers will have access to phone consultations only, webchat services are not available at this time.
What is the 24/7 Mental Health Support line?
ahm members who have hospital cover can access the Medibank Mental Health Support line during the coronavirus crisis. What this means is that you will now be able to speak to a mental health professional who can provide advice and information in relation to any mental health issues or concerns that you may have. Lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1800 532 012 until the crisis passes.
What is the 24/7 Nurse line?
ahm members who have hospital cover can access the 24/7 Medibank Nurse phone service during the coronavirus crisis. What this means is that you will now be able to speak to experienced and qualified nurses over the phone to discuss any health questions or concerns and get professional advice on what to do next. Lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1800 532 012 until the crisis passes.
Medibank Hospital Assist will also not be available at this time for ahm customers.
Are you collecting my personal and sensitive information?
Yes, Medibank Health Solutions Telehealth (MHS) will collect your personal and sensitive information to assess your eligibility for, provide you with, and to continue to develop and improve, the 24/7 Medibank Nurse phone service and 24/7 Mental Health Support line.
ahm and MHS Telehealth are part of the Medibank Group and the same privacy policy applies to all Medibank Group companies. This means the privacy policy you’ve already signed up to as an ahm member also applies when you use these support services. You can view the ahm privacy policy here.
Do I need to contact ahm before I can access the 24/7 Mental Health Support and Nurse lines?
No, you don’t need to contact ahm before using these lines, as long as you have hospital cover with ahm. Just ensure that you have your ahm membership number ready before calling.
What if my hospital cover is currently suspended, do I still have access to the 24/7 Mental Health Support and Nurse lines?
Yes, if you have suspended your hospital cover and have paid for your cover up to the suspension date, you will still be able to access these lines. Just ensure that you have your ahm membership number ready before calling.
What if I am an overseas student, do I also have access to the 24/7 Mental Health and Nurse Support lines?
No, ahm OSHC (Overseas Student Health Cover) members already have access to a dedicated 24/7 Student Health and Support Line, which can provide these services and more, on 1800 006 745.
The 24/7 Mental Health Support and Nurse lines are by Medibank, why am I getting this as an ahm customer?
As ahm is part of Medibank Group, we are pleased to be able to also offer the Medibank extended support to eligible ahm members. This is why it will be branded Medibank when you call.
